Much Accomplished; More to Do

January 2015 Newsletter frontWhile we can look back with pride at what we accomplished together in 2014, we are getting down to business for a busy and challenging 2015, we write in the January EQIL Insider Scoop.

From Illinois’ implementation of marriage equality and muscular anti-bullying protections to stronger community connections, Equality Illinois touched the lives of LGBT Illinoisans and allies throughout the state in 2014.

But with a new administration in Springfield and a Republican Congress in Washington, we must remain vigilant in 2015 to protect our gains while deepening our connections and sharing our resources in every corner of Illinois.

We have to keep up our work until every LGBT individual in Illinois is equal under the law and can live free from fear of discrimination in every aspect of their lives. We are committed to protecting the transgender community; building up protections for LGBT minors; helping seniors live with dignity; and the list goes on. There is much more to do.
