The program for this Saturday’s LGBT Equality Institute in Springfield will bring together experts and activists who will focus on the services, programs and issues central to Illinoisans outside of Chicago.
Springfield Mayor James O. Langfelder will welcome the participants at the 10 am opening session. The conference will also feature state Sen. Andy Manar of Bunker Hill, IL, whose district includes Springfield and Decatur, and state Rep. Litesa Wallace of Rockford, who will participate in the lunchtime portion of the program at noon looking at LGBT issues from a state policy perspective.
Registration for the August 29 event at the State House Inn, 101 E. Adams St., Springfield, is still available. The $20 registration includes lunch.
