Hemp Club Jewelry

Hemp Club Handmade Jewelry was started by Kelsey Rankin in loving memory of her best friend, Julie Berls. Hemp Club Jewelry is a collection of affordable, whimsical, earthy, bohemian handmade jewelry for all ages, under $30. A portion of the proceeds from each piece sold benefits the Julie Berls Memorial Scholarship Fund. Julie started the “Hemp Club” in 2006 and taught her high school girlfriends the art of hemp macrame. The girls would make friendship bracelets for each other and enjoy spending summer nights outside together, bonding over this simple, ancient craft. In December, 2011, Julie had just graduated from Eastern Illinois University and was planning to become a teacher, but was tragically killed in a car accident just two weeks after graduating, and was unable to live out her dream of teaching children. The Scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating senior planning to major in education, and carry on Julie’s dream. Hemp Club’s mission is to share Julie’s story and keep her memory and teachings alive through one of a kind, handmade jewelry, while helping to support the scholarship.
