Sr. Director of Strategic Operations – Position Overview

Equality Illinois seeks a visionary and results-driven Sr. Director of Strategic Operations to serve as the organization’s senior internal integrator. This role operates with delegated authority from the Chief Executive Officer to ensure enterprise alignment, operational discipline, financial integrity, and cross-portfolio accountability. This is a leadership position responsible for strengthening execution standards, institutionalizing processes, and ensuring the organization functions as a coordinated enterprise rather than a collection of independent departments. The Sr. Director of Strategic Operations partners closely with department leaders to elevate performance, strengthen infrastructure, and align daily operations with strategic and budgetary priorities.
Director of Public Policy – Position Overview

Equality Illinois seeks a strategic and dynamic Director of Public Policy. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and serving as a member of the senior leadership team, the Director leads the organization’s advocacy and policy strategy to advance full equality for LGBTQ+ people in Illinois. This role builds and strengthens coalitions, works closely with elected officials and agency leaders, develops and advances pro-LGBTQ+ legislation while opposing harmful policies, and helps implement the movement’s state electoral strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of the policymaking process, and exceptional relationship-building abilities to effectively engage diverse stakeholders and communities across the state.
