Annoyance Theatre

The Annoyance Theatre Presents a special screening of Faith Soloway’s “Jesus Has Two Mommies.” Faith Soloway will be in attendance at the Annoyance event, performing a curtain-raiser with Annoyance ensemble member Susan Messing. The event will be hosted by Chicago drag-queen favorite Debbie Fox.
All proceeds will benefit the LGBTQ civil rights work of Equality Illinois.
Soloway, an Annoyance Theatre alum whose credits include “The Real Live Brady Bunch,” “The Miss Vagina Pageant,” and “Coed Prison Sluts” from the theatre’s repertoire, is currently a writer on television’s “Transparent,” which was created by her sister Jill Soloway, also an Annoyance alum.
In “Jesus Has Two Mommies,” enter the world of writer/director/performer Faith Soloway as she focuses her satirical lens on herself to tell the story of a nerdy Jewish lesbian’s mid-life crisis.
Faith and her Irish-Catholic girlfriend, Cathy, are about to give birth to their first child, conceived via artificial insemination. Traditionally-minded Cathy wants to get married before the baby is born, but all Faith is getting is cold feet.
That’s when Jesus appears to her…
Making light of the Yuletide and the hot-button issues of same-sex marriage and parenting, “Jesus has Two Mommies” lights the way through Soloway’s crisis with faithfully irreverent comedy and a whole lot of love.
