LGBTQ+ young people in Illinois have been experiencing high levels of harassment, bullying, and discrimination in schools. In response, pro-LGBTQ+ groups, advocates and allies across the state have been working together to hold schools accountable, offer training resources and make sure no LGBTQ+ students 'fall through any cracks'.

Thank you to the Illinois Department of Human Rights for the new guidance regarding the protection of transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming students in Illinois. The guidance comes at a time when LGBTQ+ organizations in Illinois received an unprecedented numbers of reports of anti-LGBTQ+ bullying and harassment in Illinois schools.
